Meet Your Retreat Hosts

Hey Sis! I'm Kia!

And I want you to know something. Workplace racial trauma led me to a sunken place in my career. That is until I just couldn’t take it anymore and realized I DESERVED better.

I’ve spent the last 25 years working as a frontline nonprofit fundraiser and DEI consultant. I’ve been a single mother to my son, and now a beautiful surrogate daughter, who are both college sophomores. Like many of us, I struggled to achieve work-life balance and even make ends meet for years, but God!

Now, as an empty nester, I’m experiencing a liberatory awakening. I’ve realized that for years I’ve been living in survival mode, and simply existing. BUT NO MORE. Today, I’m thriving!  I’m doing the inward work and healing from generational trauma inside and out.

Now that my eyes are open, I’m committed to getting the most out of life and centering self-care and joy! I’m on a liberatory journey and prioritizing my health and well-being. There’s so much more I could say, but instead, I’ll save it for later.

Can’t wait to meet you, Sis,

Love Kia

Hey Sis! I'm Naheemah!

First and foremost I want you to know that I see you because I am you. Having walked the path of burnout myself, I intimately understand the juggle faced by busy, burnt-out black and brown women leaders. I know what it feels like to go from one demanding job to your second, walking in the door of your home hearing the Mommy I need plea’s and mustering the strength to pour out when your cup is utterly depleted.

To be honest for too many years I didn’t even know I was burnt out because generational burnout and being in survival mode was what I saw. learned and knew. Until, I gave myself full permission to take a Divine Pause® and learned to love myself best, nurture my nervous system, prioritize my self-care and health, and commit to setting and keeping my boundaries in work + life – and accept my divine truth that rest is my birthright and so is thriving. This is your truth too, and as my sister’s keeper, this is the essence of what we hold safe soft space for through our liberatory coaching, masterminds, and self-care retreats.

At Divine Pause®, we’re not just a consultancy or movement — we’re a sanctuary, dedicated to redefining generational well-being for leaders and workplaces alike.

Sis, you do not have to self-care nor unlearn what so many of us were taught to stay bound alone. We got you!

That’s why our mission is crystal clear: by 2025, we’re committed to reaching and positively impacting 1000 Black and Brown Women, offering them the lifeline they desperately deserve to combat stress and generation burnout for good from the inside out.

Rooting your you and your liberation,

Naheemah
